i decided i am going to throw my 2.5" exhaust on my cutlass but the headers look like crap and they put out a ton of heat. i want to sand blast them, repaint them with header paint and then wrap them with fiberglass header wrap to keep the heat down. has anyone else used the wrap? does it work well?? thanks

I never had any issues, but I have seen it crack the headers on one occasion.

the wrap also has a tendancy to hold water and rot the headers rather quickly.
if you can afford it i'd send them to jet-hot and get them ceramic coated. it keeps the heat in, upping the exhaust velocity, has a really good warranty, and looks cool.

i am trying to cut costs, this is my driver and i try to use only left over parts from my regal on it. budget build up....

take a look at VHT paint and some of the other companies. i faintly recall hearing about someone making a spray paint with ceramics in it. and according to THEIR testing it did reduce underhood temps. i do know that VHT paint can take VeryHighTemps 😀 and is chemical and corrosion resistant. so maybe it will keep the headers from rotting.
