Hey guys... Just bought this set of SSII chrome wheels of a lady in town for a sweet saw buck. They are in pretty good driver condition...need a little work. They have the typical black insets painted, but I was wondering if they might look good with another color...so I painted one of them dark met blue over the black, which still shows through a bit. Tell me what ya think.... I may just paint it back to black or try another color, like maybe silver or even light blue.... I love the gold ones, but my car is light blue, so I dont really think that would mesh well. Any Ideas?
I just brush it on....gonna do a better job when I decide what color to use

yeah, I hear ya, guess I need to use primer on it first so u can see the top color correctly....and after looking at it on the screen, it looks pretty bad...however, on the wheel in daylight, it really looks pretty good...idk...I just think black is just such a usually look and doesnt compliment the blue color of the car...I really wish my car was darker in color, so I could paint these gold and be done with it....but thats not in the budget at the moment.

Anybody got any ideas on masking these correctly so I can use a spraygun? .... though about covering the hole thing with wide tape and then cutting out the places I wanna paint with a razor knife.....

I've never done this before but I've heard of guys using Vaseline to mask off the areas again I can't verify.

You know, I was looking at a can of grease on the bench earlier today and thinking the same thing...paint wont stick to the greasy areas. I guess I should brush on the vaseline with a sponge brush so that I dont get it everywhere....I think I try that ....Thanks!
