i jus t mocked up the chevy motor and the t10 four speed everything fit great it looks clean. now that i got the motor mounts in i can put the front suspension back together. i got a set of moog 5658 a new idler arm and some adjustable shocks. i can post picks if ud like. gimmi some feed back i still need to get headers rear springs a new driveshaft, i want to get a rear but they are to hard to find. also i need to cut a hole in the floor for the shifter need to get a shifter boot and i have to replace all the speakers. one question about the speakers in the cutlass how many are there? and how hard are the speakers to get out from the dash? it looks like u cant even get a screw driver in there. oo sorry one moor question does the speaker dash cover just come up with a flat head of does the whole dash have to come out. thanks i should have picks tomorrow.

good luck finding speakers. you need 3 inches up front, and 4x10 in the rear. I haven't looked into crutchfield yet. I imagine that will be the only place to get them.

just get 6x9 adapters for the back, and then run the 6x9''s. then you can get new kick pannels up front to allow for 6.5'' and then you dont have to worry about the 3'' dash speakers at all.

the kicks are awesome but they do NOT fit 6 1/2" i think it can do some 6" and for sure most if not all 5.25. they fit well and look very nice

The dash speakers aren't much fun to remove/replace but you can pry off the covers with a flat screwdriver(being careful not to crack the dash like I did), then use a short screwdriver, or one of those allen wrench lookin screwdrivers and the speakers come out. Infinity makes good 3" speakers for the dash. Pioneer makes 4X10s for the back. Hope this helps, good luck.

thanks should i pry from the corner or middle is there any tips to nt breaking it. were are the clips on each corner or in the middle?thanks

the wider sides of the dash speakers have 2 clips and the skinny sides have 1 clip. best way i have pulled them out is with a bent screwdriver to get under them and pull away from the dash and not pry on them. or if your tricky with a long screwdriver you can push them out from under the dash. also a bent screwdriver that looks like a z works great for pulling them out. make sure you put the bass eliminator crossovers on the fronts or you will be annoyed at the buzzing sound

if you get the rear 6x9 adaptors make sure to put like a door weatherstripping around the edge of each of them or they rattle like a b*tch on your back panel. i got mine from crutchfield for like 15$. i run a set of infinity perfects in the back with about 100 watts a piece with a single 12 and then just some regular 3" speakers up front.. doesnt sound too bad but im trying to make a panel for tweeters up in the 3" spot with a set of 6" in the doors or somewhere down there.

the sbc sort of depresses me a little but its not my project so its not my concern

what is the bass eliminaator crossover is that a regular croosover or different? im thinking of putting 3 inch speakers up front 6 inch components in the doors and 6by9s in the back with to 10s all bose with a bose dvd player. or maybe tweeters up front were the 3 inch speakers go im not sure yet. About the chevy yeaa i kno its an olds car but i had a built chevy engine from my 73 camaro race car and i dint have the money at the time to get a new motor. ill get picks tomorrow i have them just got to download them on the computer.

theres a few sets of speakers like infinitys that have the crossovers. i cant even remember exactly what they were called but i got them from the local audio guy where i used to live. basically it cuts out any sound lower than like 800hz or something just like an equalizer but it is a a straight through thing with 2 wires in and two out to the speakers

and btw the speakers up front are 3 1/2 inch

idk, i went with cheapo blaupunkt 3 1/2s that were like 30 bucks and those bass blockers and all was good compared to the craptastic paper cone ones

edit: this is what im talking about

those are necessary for the front speakers? what is the best Hz cut off for the fronts it goes from 150hz- all the way up 2 6000hz
