A few weeks ago I replaced my clutch cause the hub broke. I inspected the centerforce pressure plate and it looked good. All the weights were there and nothing was bent. The surface was in great shape so I used it with a new clutch disk. It worked great for a while but the chattering has come back. I must have missed something. I can get away from the chattering if I use the clutch like it was 5.5" multi disk clutch. It's an on off clutch now. I'm I'm sitting in neutral a and i let the clutch out normally I get a slow vibration like the pressure plate is off center. So this weekend I'll be dropping the transmission once again to change the pressure plate. I'm also going to put in my Howe throw out bearing as well...the centerforce pressure plate would not work with the Howe bearing but my Hayes street and strip pressure plate will...I really don't feel like doing this job again ....🙁

Yeah that suxs! pulling transmissions is a pain to do and then twice for same job just plain painful

I feel like a real dummy, the only problem was the bolts on the bell housing on the drivers side came loose.....I put all my bolts in with thread locker locktite but I didn't use it on the bell housing bolts....:blam:

nothing wrong with that. To err is human someone once said...

Sounds like an easy fix to me. Lately when I touch anything mechanical a simple job turns into mucho work.

yes it was a easy fix and the clutch and pressure plate I picked up will come on handy when I r&r the engine and transmission this winter

I still remember getting back from my 1st test drive after putting the TH350 trans back in the monte. Trans fluid everywhere. "What did we drong?" me and my friend looking mystified. We forgot to install the front seals on it, so the trans fluid was coming right back out onto the ground after that test drive lol

I did something similar when I switched from my Howe hydraulic throw out bearing to the OEM style. There is a pin to prevent the trow out bearing from rotating that replaces one of the front bearing cover bolts which I removed but forgot to put in a bolt. I got the car down the street and looked in my mirror to see a trail of transmission fluid. It was easier to fix that problem than yours cause I could just slid the transmission back a little to get the bolt in plus I'm just dealing with a 75 lbs transmission...

Hmmmm... I never locktight the bell housing bolts, ever. Maybe you just didn't tighten them up, easy to overlook.

re&re the motor and trans ?? What for now LOL
You should be charging yourself shop rate for working on this car. You would have made enough cash to retire.... ROFL
