Overpriced cars for sale

I love Pontiac Fiero's. It seems like some people are really crazy when it comes to selling them. Take this one for instance. There is one on autotrader.com and it has been for sale for at least 7 years. The guy has gone from $25,000 when I first seen it and he is now up to $40,000. Is he on crack? It has 221 miles on it though. I can't post a link, don't know how.

I see plenty of others with around 70,000 to 100,000 and people are still asking crazy prices, they all want like $11,000 for them. What gives on this? NADA 1988 Fiero GT is worth like $5,000 tops.

The Fiero is a unique piece of vintage 1980's both in design and style, I hate to say it but the prices will only go up as so many broke down and got crushed. The GT curve backs are crazy high now. Soon they will all be though.

I could have gotten one local for $2100 last year and wish I would have hopped on it.

Fiero owners are like RX-7 owners very devoted and not afraid to pony up for what they want.

IIRC the '88 they finally got the suspension right (i.e. NOT just a rehash of the chevette front end...) and then they went and killed it. I've always heard they're in demand because of that... the Lambo kit car builders are eating them up, too.... at least the body panels won't rust! 😀

Yeah in 1988 it had a lotus suspension.

If that is the case, I better get one when I can and hold on to it,,, :lol:

I don't think he will find a taker at that price. Fieros are good only because they are cheap. If you take the cheap away, you end up making a strong case for a 2g MR2 with the 3S-GTE engine, or even the 1g MR2 with a 20v 4a-ge swap instead. It's actually a better car, but it is just not as easy to swap a V8 or 3800 V6 into. Then again, the 3S can make around 350hp before the intake manifold design becomes an issue, so it may not really be necessary either.

Fieros are good only because they are cheap.

I always though of them as a poor mans Ferrari Testarossa, or the cheap way to act out or favorite miami vice moments
