Hi everyone, ditched the vinyl top on the monte staying with the hard top and was wondering what are guys using these days that will hide the quarter panel to roof seams and not crack on me after a few years? Thanks.

Body filler. Today's body fillers are much superior to the old bondo. The key is prep, grind out the old filler and the metal you will be applying it to, several inches beyond the actual seam. Filler likes some "tooth" to grab to. Also clean the area from any oil/dirt with a solvent such as precleano. Buy your products at an autobody supply store and ask for lots of advice. The autobody products technology is changing daily. My brother is in the business, and when I walk into his shop I always am amazed at the new products/tools!

Thanks for the reply even though i wrote here i still stopped into the local shop and asked a few questions and got some good answers and tips and they pretty much said the same thing you just did cant wait to get started thanks again.

I like to use Allmetal or Metal to Metal filler, from USC and Evercoat.

I also like to use USC Allmetal. It dries harder than plastic filler and does not absorb moisture like talc based fillers. It sands pretty easily as well. I find that it's a fairly decent replacement for redoing leaded seams.

Best way to do it is clean out the old bondo, clean up the welds. Then paint the seam with epoxy primer and let it cure overnight. Next day apply the filler, I used Metal Fill Bondo, their version of USC Allmetal. After sanding the filler down, paint again with epoxy primer.
