Damn nice Cutlass!

I do not pesonally know of any resources out on the web, however you should search FeePay for the actual GM - Oldsmobile Dealership-Service Dept parts books, service books, wiring diagram books, including th various supplemental books... its best to find the ones specific to the year you have or the year just after... they'll give you all of the option RPO's, GM part numbers, GM assembly procedures, wiring diagrams, & exploded part diagrams. These are not like the crappy "Repair Books" you can buy at the auto parts store or at Banes and Nibble. Don't assume all '78-'88 Cutlass year-issue books are all pretty much the same material... some of it is but... earlier-year ones don't include production changes, revisions, or error corrections... and later-year ones might not have correct information &/or includes wholly different part numbers that are incorrect.

Typically, these can run around $40-$50 each for the primary editions of each book and supplemental books can range from $2 -$60 depending on the amount of additional info in them.

Help Save and Protect our Hobby Folks... Don't buy them and then re-use them as kindling just because you are done with them... Put them up for resale or give them to someone else...or even better scan them and post the info. There are too many other folks that could use them... Remember, thousands upon thousands of these cars were built each year vs a few thousand GM Dealerships that each got a set of books & supplements each year... add in attrition and it leaves maybe a few hundred copies of each piece issued for each year made... and those pieces are scattered all over the map... seldom does one find a complete year of Service Dept GM materials in one place.... usually it takes years to find each piece for one model per model year.

Good Tip.I already went and found a 78 Service manual for 16 bucks, and will look for a parts book.

Thanks for the compliment on the car.
The picture in my sig doesn't show the parking lot dings and other minor defects, but it is in great shape for a 78 with original paint.

Good Deal, there are a lot of little supplements that were added each year as well, so keep your eyes open.

As for the dings n dents... only owners and asshats call out those "Defects" in a car that is relatively original and in good shape for the age. 8) 8) 8)

Sorry if that came across wrong... LOL. What I was getting at was that owners always see every little imperfection in their own cars, many things that people wouldnt see or simply just overlook... they just see and appreciate a damn nice, original car when they see one.
The "asshats" are the people who would look at a damn nice car like yours and nit pick everything they can find...
