Pedestal for shifter over bench seat - any pics/ideas?

The few that I've seen look tacky. It's usually some squre tube between a plate to mount the shifter and some saddles on the trans hump with a big, ugly shift cable looped to the floor. It's worth getting buckets if you want a floor shifter. just to clarify, this is for an auto shifter and I want to have it sitting mid-air above the bench seat so I can shift when belted in tight.....

You can always go with a long handled shifter like a Lokar or something of that sort.
