i will add that the tri-pod is probably the best investment for taking good pictures, it's another thing that i forgot to bring. i get what you mean with the too much sun or i think i do anyway. More or less with the angle the sun is coming in it is washing out some of the car? i know i have alot of work to do with my pictures but i definatly have progressed. Also though i am doing this for pure hobby. My friend is the one who wants to take it to a business setting he just can't take the pictures

Well, you have to play with the camera a bit and see when the glare goes away in the screen before taking the pic. I also play with the exposure rate to reduce it sometimes. Remember that sometimes the glare will bounce off the car and hit the lens. I usually try to avoid direct sunlight during the brightest parts of the day when I do my pictures. Like I said, I am no pro at this, just someone who does it as a hobby and analyzes the outcome to improve it next time.

I really like taking pictures at dusk, then you can go to a darker area with no direct sunlight and if you slow down your shutter speed you can still get a pretty bright picture. I have alot of ideas and when i go home on thanksgiving break i will try to have some better photos

Your sig photo is a good example of proper indirect lighting. The shaded side is the one pictured and the reflections of the surrounding landscape show off the body lines. I really learned all about lighting while trying to take pictures of my bright white pickup truck. White hides everything very well, and the glare always seems to obscure it in direct light. So, I learned to take pics of it on the shady side. I had to do it this way, because the editing software I have that is part of Windows media player on Vista looks awful if you deviate too far from original.

So more like this? This is an untouched photo

Either one of those is pretty good. BTW, I love the color choice on your car. It works so well with the character of those cars since a lot of 70's cars were metallic green.

Thank you very much, the color is not to far from the original seafoam green. Sometime i will take a shot of the underside of the trunk, the painter faded it so some of the original is still there.

How's this for lighting? This picture is untouched i dunno how i got the colors to hit like that but i love the picture
