- correct... the 275 is so wide, it actually sits below the lip.
- also correct... if you use a skinnier tire like 245 or 255, and with the right backspacing, the tire can sit inside the wheel well behind the lip
I think realistically... you will have to use closer to a 245 or 235 tire
I say this because the wheel well is rounded, and the edges of the wheel well are not much deeper than where the fender lip is anyways.
you could swing it with 30" tire and stock ride height, but I think it'll be troublesome with 2" dropped
a 28" or even 27" tire will still look badass, and you can achieve that with a 60 sidewall (for eg: 235/60 or 245/60)
but we can argue all day and we still won't know until you try it... Any chance you can go to a local yard and pick up a scrap truck tire? 255/70 or 245/75 is a common truck tire size.
