I have another friend in Sweden who use to send me pics of car events in his country. Man, you would think the pics were from the states. Also a very big American car scene in Sweden...and probably most European countries.

Mr. Khan, post them pics... 😀

there is an event coming in september a few towns away from me, it covers a field the size of 4 footbal fields filled rust. but also a lot of beauties like rivieras, mustangs, chevelles, fully restored suburbans, lincolns, lots of caprices (espacially the 90's whale's), and one g body (mine). but i will take pics for sure) i never see ss models and montecarlos are not really wanted, and let that be exactly the type of car i like.i would love to import an 83-86 monte ss some day. just because nobody knows what the hell it is, but all gbodys sure are beautiful 8)

I took these pictures a few blocks from my grand parent's house, in Karachi Pakistan. This was during my visit in '07this won't be so amazing for most of you guys, but keep in mind, the average car there is the size of a Suzuki Swift. A Honda Civic is considered a midsize car there, and owned by rich people.

A few large American vehicles made it there from Arab countries, during the 70s and 80s. A few are still around, but I haven't seen any running in the last decade.

when I was taking these pictures, I noticed a neighboring house, someone was restoring a Mustang, so I hopped up on a rock and took some pictures over the fence.

on a side story. When I was still in elementary school, my dad bought I think what was a 1977 Caprice. With some friends, he swap'd out the 305/auto driveline, for what was a more common in that country, inline 6 diesel/5spd, out of a Pathfinder. He sold the car shortly after before we moved out here. Now, the cool thing is... during my visit in '07, we were out-n-about, and we see a white Caprice just like the one my dad had. So we go look at, owner wasn't around, so we waited. Owner came by, we asked him about it. The guy had no history of it, he said he bought it off a guy. We noticed it had a stick shift, we pop the hood, and there it is the inline diesel! Lol, the guy didn't even know these cars didn't come with that driveline.

... what are the odds of running into that car 20some years later?
(we took some pictures, I'm trying to find them, will post when I find)

Great pics, Khan.
That Dodge looks pretty rough..but I'd just on that '63 Impala SS in a heartbeat. The Mustang looks like it's on the road to recovery. I guess Caprices were popular worldwide.
That's a good story about you guys running into your dad's Caprice after all those years, and being able to identify it.
As for swapping engines over from different brand vehicles. That's pretty much how many of the old vehicles survived in Cuba for decades.
Thanks for posting them. When I ever get to Cuba one day, I plan on taking a boatload of pictures.
