Does your shifter have the round handle with the Pontiac emblem in the center of the push-button?
If yes, I can shoot some pix to you tomorrow.
 
Here's the shifter page from the Service Manual.

Here are a couple of tips:
1. Be careful when removing the center button; it is easy to crack the outer edge of the button (#3) while prying it up from the handle. There is a recessed area on each side of the button, below the upper surface, where you can insert a small, flat screwdriver to pry the button out of the handle.
2. The handle is held on to the shifter stick by a snap ring (C-clip, #5) that you'll be able to see after you remove the button.
