Plastic fender wells for GP 78-80?

I "think" the Grand Prix was the same as the Grand Am. Metal inner fenders on 78 and 79. Plastic inner fenders on the 80 and up.
I think the Malibu and Cutlass used plastic 1 year earlier..?

I've been kicking around ditching the metal and going plastic if I come across a set. I'd rather have the weight savings. I don't particularly feel like prepping the metal ones for paint either.

If you pick up a set of plastic inner fender wells, weight them to get the actual difference between them and the steel ones. That would be nice to know!

I actually just made a thread on if the fender wells from a 78 monte/el camino/malibu would fit our Gp's.. Orginal parts group makes it Part ID: L240655.... For a 78 monte though but its still a g-body 78 im still trying to do research to see if they'll fit
I have had a 1979 Gmc caballero,84 el camino,84 & 86 Monte SS,1985 cutlass,5 malibus 78 to 80,I have a 1980 Grand am & a 1981 lemans and everyone has had plastic inner fenderwells never seen a gbody with metal ones that's cool they made both I wonder what the weight difference is probably not much.
Do you know on all of those gbodies if the inner fenderwells are interchangeable? lets say 78-80 if there the sameadam6640 said:
