Re: Please help🙂 What color wire and what does connector l

Thank You so much for the help. Where is the sensor located? Someone put in a 1972 350 engine in my car and it has the temp sensor with one chrome metal probe coming out of it and it looks like this on my engine and it is on the front of the engine near the water outlet for the thermostat.... What part of the engine is your first picture from? Is it the original 305? Thanks!

Re: Please help🙂 What color wire and what does connector l

Most engines I've dealt with the temp sender is in the drivers side head near the front. I pulled the pic off the net...as I didn't have anything handy.

Re: Please help🙂 What color wire and what does connector l

Ok...I have been searching online and getting more confused🙂 I have a 2 prong sensor inbetween the number 1 and 2 spark plug on the driver side and I also have the sensor by the thermostat housing on the intake manifold???

Re: Please help🙂 What color wire and what does connector l

That part you are looking at is a Ported vacuum switch. The temp switch should be on the side of the head between 1 and 3 on the drivers side. That switch you are showing is for the vacuum controls.

Re: Please help🙂 What color wire and what does connector l

Thank You for the reply. There is no hole in the middle for the vacuum line on this switch? The casting numbers on the intake say its a 1979 and the engine is a 1972. Could I be looking at 2 coolant sensors? Where is the original on a 1983 monte carlo 305? Thanks in advance. 🙂Nel
