hi all i have a small problem with my 87 cutlass,307 v8
it was starting fine 3days ago...now wont start, changed the battery, checked the oil, volts, and also chaged the starter....wtf else is there to do.....im needing this car to start any help is appreciated thanks-chris

you will have to check you neutral safety switch and the linkage that goes down to the transmission.. put the car in neutral and see if the engine cranks. The ignition switch made have also loosened up and is out of adjustment. The neutral safety switch and ignition switch are both located on the steering column. Hope this helps. good luck

can i just buy new ones, putit in and call it done? and if so how do i go about replacing these things? like any possible way to get a diagram or list of instructions on how to 🙂 thanks and much appreciated chris

Verify the starter by hot-wiring it. Find the wire that goes down to the starter and jump it to 12 volts, it is one of the wires in the engine harness goes down under the motor to the starter and hooks to the "S" terminal. Or hook up a remote starter button to the starter wire terminal. If you are nutty like me you could also just shove a big screwdriver in there and jump between the battery cable and the starter terminal. Have someone work the gas pedal and please be sure the car is in park, brakes on, and car is properly supported. If it starts you know the problem is in the wiring, as stated above.
