hey guys i asked for help about this before and i got some help but still no luck. So I had my car sitting for a year or so. I started it last year before servicing the carb(cleaning it up replacing gaskets and whatever came in the carb kit) put the carb back on had some issuse but started back. Let it sit for for a year now I moved and want to use the car but wont start for the life of it. The battery kept dying so I changed the alternator n battery, still wont start. So I changed my plugs wires (firing order 165432) still wont start, so I check my fuel pump was no good and sending unit went and my fuel tank was leaking so I changed that and the lines to steel braided fuel lines. still no start. So I checked my ignition module(with test light light turn on, check like this http://www.oldspower.com/vb/showthread.php?t=40378) as well as the coil in the disturbutor cap which was no good had to change the coil. still no start. I want to know to how many volts should the ignition module have cuz im getting 2.6 volts in the ignition module when doing the test like the link by puttin the neg lead on the ground and the pos lead on the power n got 2.6V is that right? I cant check my plugs as I;m doing this by myself n have on noe to help me check. My starter was changed last year just before beening parked up so dont think its that but n e idea would be good I never looked at the starter to see if the wires are ok to be honest, but I need some ideas.

3.8L V6 1986 Cutlass Supreme is the car before I forget. I have no smog as I live in Canada n the car is over 25yr old. Was running without the smog before parked up.

Can't tell you about the voltage for ignition module, but try checking for spark at the plug in the dark. You will be able to see it while cranking it over. Just ground the plug out somewhere that you can see it through the windshield while cranking. You should be able to hear it sparking also. Also make sure you are getting 12 volts to the coil. Make sure you are getting gas by opening the throttle a few times while looking in the carb. You should see gas squirting. Are you running the same fuel from the last time it ran? If so, gas could be bad. You can try starting fluid to see if it will start and run for a few seconds.

starter fluid no help, but ill try what u said in the dark with the plug, but need to know how much ohms or volts flow throught the ignition module

no new gas too, i can hear it squirting but i will look to see fuel spiting.
