I am setting up this thread in the event of our current economic times and how a lot of things are taking dramatic turns for the worst, and for some people, the better.

I come from a military family and don't enjoy a democrat in office because they slash military benfits, cut military funding, and destroy our national defense. Obama has recently dismantled the F-22 Raptor program for the air force. He has also got rid of our missile defense system. His explanation for these actions was it would make countries more friendly towards us if we weren't technologically so far ahead of everyone else.

Another issue is his new policies give no incentives for the American people to actually work. There is now more money in the welfare system, it is much easier for people to get welfare, and it is really sad for those who do need the system and can't get any benefits because "Joe Blow" had 20 kids and is living off the system. I remember back during the elections, a black man was interviewed outside a polling station and they asked him who he voted for (obama) and why. He says " Once Obama is in office, I'll never have to work again". So the question is why work when you can make plenty of money off uncle sam and its tax free? Why work if your pay check is going to be taxed so much to pay for the free loaders in this country who won't work? My opinion is some of these families who are making good money did it because they actually worked for it and got an education instead of poppin out babies left and right.

Now if some of you think I don't know much because I am 18, trust me I followed this election to the "T" and am a very active person when it comes to politics. So I feel this "forum in the rough" might be a good starting point in our upcoming economic hardships.

Well, the Off Topic is where the politics are supposed to be and it was set up for that purpose. I shall move this there.

you may have followed the elections but not the forum guidelines. Can someone move this to "off topic" please? and thank you

always posting when i do haha thanks 85

Alright smart guys, excuse me but I think its kinda BS the "RIP Pontiac" thread continues to go when they're just arguing over politics in it. And if the forum is called "General Discussion" then we should be able to discuss general economics and politics that face our economy. The problem with the "Off Topic" forum is that when you post, the post doesn't appear on the home forum index.

That is the whole point of the "Off Topic" forum. To keep it off the filter for the homepage. Had a whole discussion about this a while ago.

Well, to be honest, I started that whole thing but backed out of it because it made me want to throw sh*t. I should go back in and deal with it, but it's almost finals and I need to calm down so I can sleep and concentrate on bringing my grade up to an A instead of the B I have right now. I should have started it here, not there. I think I will move it too.

If anyone wants to see something about poiltics or not based about cars they know where to find it. Then for those of us who choose not to talk about politics we do not have to deal with them showing up on the homepage. It was really bad during the elections and that is why this was created

See i didn't know this forum was created as a result of the elections. It still is really bad right now especially with everything taking a turn for the worse.

No disrespect to you 85, the thread was going really good, and I'm not suggesting moving it, I just got upset at the fact that the whole thing turned to politics towards the end. So thats why I put my thread in the general discussion thinking it would be fine.
