Came across one in a '75 wagon. Has 90K on it. Haven't heard it run yet, but owner claims it runs good. Worth $500? I've been working on him to take $400 for a month and he won't budge.

hey Steve, if it`s really a good running mill, Isay 500 is pretty much on the nose in my area. Is this for the engine only or the whole wagon?

Engine and trans. Came across it searching the classifieds within the demo derby crowd, so the wagon has it's fate determined already. The trans is a long tail so I'll end up getting rid of that anyway. He doesn't want to separate them to take less either.

Air cleaner to oil pan? Grab it. Be sure to get EVERYTHING you will need as brackets and pulleys etc are scarce these days. Just sell the transmission.

Yep, even the gas in the fuel bowl is included

The only downside is that I have to drive 3+ hours to get it and recruit my dad for the use of his truck.

I would consider that quality time with Dad, all the more valuable.

He just retired at the end of November so he probably wants to get the hell away from the house anyway 🙂

For sure! dad needs a road trip! I agree, get all the parts and brackets and stuff you can, enev if they are of questionable use. If the starter is crap for example, you need a core to send back

I'm retired too and I know I would!

My buddy sold the Pontiac 455 out of his old car this past summer for $500, and that was just the motor (we offered the trans, but the guy didn't want it), so I'd say it's a good deal...
