poor mileage

If you disconnected the mixture control solenoid from the feedback carb, the fuel metering rods will remain in the maximum rich position. This will generally make the engine run smoother and have more power, at the price of poor MPG.

It's a much better bet to dump the CCC feedback carb and replace it with a non computerized carb if you decide to not bother with the computer system anymore. The metering rods are preset on the non computer carbs for a good balance of power and economy. The V6's with non computer carbs should average around 20 MPG if the engine is in good shape.

It wasn't removed, it is a stock 2 barrel non-comp controlled V6. It is a Canadian car and I think the computer controlled versions were optional in Canada.

I am using mobil 1 synthetic and I also noticed a difference when I started using it.

I just made a 500 mile road trip and the car ran great as it usually does. I got about 22 mpg, highway almost all the way. Was hoping it would be a little higher. oh well
