Here is my restoration project I started year and half ago. 84 Olds Cutlass had a 3.8 with 200c trans and 7.5 peg leg. Swapped in a crate engine bolted to a 2004r and 8.5 with 3.42 gears. Should be back on the road in a few weeks.

I have a series of video's that I have been making to show what I'm doing. http://www.hutchhiperf.com/Video.html

I got rid of the engine and trans, removed the front clip, all body bolts off, parking brake cable where it enters the firewall, fuel lines disconnected at the tank, brake lines at the master cylinder, elect plug on proportioning valve. I'm prob missing something. I used some old 6x6 beams I had left over from building my shed. I cut one into two short lenghts that fit under the floor pans and slowly jacked the body up, alternating between front and back. I used jack stands until the body was up off the frame enought to use two long lenghts to support the body outside the frame perimeter. Then just roll it out.

It's a slow process, so if a connection is missed (hoses, wire, etc) you will see it. Good luck and be safe. Remember, all fingers and toes at the end of the day. If you're going to do this and need an answer to something, just shoot me a PM.

what if you swap gbody frame off another car do you have two tell the dmv or how does that work

To me it's just a part, a big part, but a part. If you replace the rear end you wouldn't do that. You wouldn't do it if you changed the entire drivetrain. The body is the same and has the same VIN. The DMV can pound sand.

My 2 cents
