So I just rebuilt the gear case on my 86 cutty. Threw it all back together and it just clicks like it did before I put the new case it. Disconnected the motor and it still clicks and the motors not turning.

Does anyone have a motor or a lead on one? I can’t find a place that sells them and only found a used one on eBay which I rather not take a chance on

It is pretty hard to find a power base that does not have anything wrong with it. I grab them whenever I can. I even bought a $300 Buick parts car just because it had both power seats. That way I can take them apart and build what I need. My biggest problem is the transmission shafts. They are never the same length it seems. You cannot cut them or they fray and split apart. I would try junk yards and swap meets. At least in a junk yard you can bring a battery, unbolt the seat, and test. As for Fleabay, if the seller guarantees it works, offers free returns, you can probably trust him. Fleabay is very good on that and is biased to the buyer. I go so far as filming a video if something is just junk. I also know that finding the older style is very hard. I have used up to 1995 parts for my 1986 seat base. After that they really changed the mechanisms. Maybe you should consider using a more modern base, and put your seat on that.
