Finally I made some time this evening to try to do something with this project. Gathered up some of the mirror heads & pedestals to try to get the best combinations. I think I got the best set up I'll get with A/G parts. Passenger side will be using the etch pimer set as the glass frame moves freely & sits inside like the manual did. Oddly, I some how miss placed the manual mirror frame & mount as I was doing this. Must be a sign of getting older. Now the power motor mount is only securing it & the head woth only one screw as there is still no way to make a hole for the second one due to the design. The driver side has both screws holding everything together but still have a rubbing chance in the inboard/right side of the frame & I feel like the glass is pushed out a bit from the head compaied to the passenger side. Think I might be able file the screw holes a bit I could make it possible to make some adjustments to have it sit inthe head like the passenger side. If I was to the Vette parts I'll just have to only alter only one mount hole on the door & still be able to use the non power mirrors if needed. Doing it this way would also make it easier to get the other set of mirrors installed on Jr.'s car if he would change his mind on power mirrors. Next I'll hve to get back to the electrical part for this & still try to find a '81 only gauge cluster bezel in dark maple with a remote mirror hole so I can use both Vette levers to make it look just like the dual cable remote mirror set up.
