I have an '85 El Camino with the Sport ( Bullet) mirrors. While they were remote on both sides, I hated the way they adjusted, and the small size. I wanted power mirrors, but wanted them to mount in the stock location. Here is my solution:
They work great, fit in the stock location, and are much larger than the original. They are a stock GM mirror from a mid-90's LeSabre, available new on Ebay for $26. I got mine from the pick-and-pull for $10. I did have to fabricate a mount, but that turned out to be a reasonable activity.
