Hi there-
I've got my interior completely out of my '79 Pontiac-all thats left is wires! I figured now is the best time for me to install the power windows I always wish I had. I assume that all G-body harnesses and motors/regulators will interchange with my 79 GP. Does anyone know that it is or isn't the case? I have my eyes on an '87 Cutlass at a local salvage lot.
Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!

did you ever get any replys? i have a 1980 Cutlass Supreme I'm trying to get the wiring figured out on. The Power window and lock harness I'm using came from a 87 Cutlass as well.

I thin k it will but why not look up the part numbers for the 79 components and match them to the part numbers for the 87

I ran a parts comparison @ my old parts job, and they are the same. if you grab the wiring as well, remember to grab the relay in the pass side kick panel as well. the lock pivots on the doors will also have to be changed if you're going from manual to power locks as well. on my 82 regal, I'd taken window/lock motors from an 86 cutlass along with the wiring harnesses (they run along a conduit behind and above the centerline of the dash, and easier if you drop the entire dash to get to. I found that my regal had been built at the factory with the behind dash wiring already in place, but yours may be different..... better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it.....

I have some of this covered in a thread- viewtopic.php?f=16&t=44911&p=383927&hilit=window+conversion#p383927
