I agree with 1979ratrod and Big Saint the long tube headers are going to be your best bet. Do you plan on keeping the 305 smog legal? As for the OG clips I was told they are pretty hard to find. I sold all the ones I had about 6 months ago but you can find them every now and then online used. You can also check with H&R sales on 35th south of the 10 freeway or at space age paint supply in mesa they may have them new but I highly doubt it.

I saw an interior thread on here a while back that had some nice looking interiors in it with some different consoles that looked good! Glad to see your going through the car and making sure everything is right and tight. cant wait to see more progress. Let me know if you need any help i'd be willing to stop by and lend a hand....

Would it be better to make it non-smog legal or to keep it smog legal? I know of another paint shop on orangewood that sells clips too. only 1 of my headlights work but i have extra wires from another ls monte headlight harness. Only 1 low beam works. The other one and the hi beams dont though.s

It all depends on what your using the car for. If its your only ride and you plan on driving it daily or if you plan on selling it in the near future I'd say keep it smog legal. If you don't plan on driving her much and you have another daily driver then I'd get classic car insurance on it which doesn't require emissions out here in AZ. That's what my plans are.

Most guys that I know that have done the Ls conversion will take the complete headlight harness and plug it in on the firewall and everything works with no problems. Sounds like you may have a bad connection or ground somewhere
 
Smog legal the only way to fly and mine is ca smog legal there is an easy way to cheat though put all the smog stuff on a 350 and no one will ever know I have a friend who did that swap in her 87 choo choo and she has past ca smog twice since the swap and all we did was use the factory smog stuff from the 305
 
Its goin to be my daily driver so Ill keep it smog legal Mel. I was working on the car this morning and got a call from my dad. Sum1 pulled out in front of him while he and his homie were on they're way to work. The thing that sucks is the front was wrecked before we started working on it and now all that work has gone to sh*t.Idk if its getting totaled or what but if it does, I might get a 350 out of it. Thank God everybody was alright.
