First time I've ever had one of these leak. Its coming out of the little rubber plug on the bottom. Now I've tried Autozone and every where else except a junkyard and nobody has one. Would I be able to throw one of those adjustable ones on there call it done?

Hmmm. Lets try this again. Will I be able to replace the original leaking prop valve with an aftermarket adjustable one with no adverse effects? Only reason I'm asking is because realy dont trust junkyard brake parts, and that seems to be the only place where I can get one from.

if you get a good one and take the time to adjust it correctly you'll be fine.

I assume you're talking about a combination valve, that incorporates the proportioning valve, the metering valve, and the differential pressure switch? An aftermarket adjustable unit won't include all these features, of course, and you'll need to replumb your brake lines to include a junction block. Many of the aftermarket disk brake vendors (SSB, Master Power, etc) sell repros of the combo valve for the A-body cars. I'll bet they either have one for the G-body or you can make the A-body unit work. Failing that (and possibly before you spend any big money) have you considered rebuilding the one you have? Leaks like this are usually caused by simple O-rings. My 93 Allante has dual proportioning valves, one going to each rear wheel. You think YOU'RE having problems finding one. I took one apart and the only possible leak path was an easy-to-replace O-ring.

I have considered rebuilding it but I havent been able to find a rebuild kit. I'll have to take mine apart see if its just an o-ring and hopefully I can replace it. Thanks for the replies, I thought there was more to it than just the prop valve. Figured I'd ask someone that was alittle more knowledgable.

Have you tried Kanter's yet? They deal specifically in obsolete brake, chassis and engine parts and may be a source for a new one.

I've never seen a kit, but the O-rings are usually standard sizes. If you can't find them locally, try McMaster Carr or Grainger.
