Push Button Start Issue

29 hours is about right for a car built since 2000. An 80's car would kill you in an hour, a 70's cars about 30 minutes, but would make yours eyes water and cough so bad you would think something was up.

Modern cars put out so little CO and other pollutants that that is take a day for a lethal level and there is so little smell or anything else to tip you off.
 
This is a good article . My wife has a avalon with push button start and when she first got it we both got out and left it running at some point. Fortunately we don't have a garage or we could have been victims of this. I tell her all the time I hate not having keys. Thanks for sharing this.
 
I've parked at the airport, got my luggage out and walked away, but Lincoln's will honk at you to say "hey, idiot, you left me running".

Old people that leave their keys in the cupholder are probably the majority of victims.
My wife keeps them in her purse. I'm not sure she knows exactly where they are in there. Lol
