a few people have asked me about the push bar on my 83 GP, seen here:

So I have taken pictures of how it installs on my car, and its rough dimensions. Of course, it will be different for all G-bodies, or other cars, but the principle is there.

There are small tabs welded to attach the bar to the same bolt locations as the small bumperrettes. It can be attached using the bumperrettes, but for simplicity I use normal bolts.

There is one bolt above, beside the grill. And one just under the bumber.

OOOooooOOOOooOOOooo...! thats purdy!

beermonkey,
you should copy the one Blake found, but make it wider like mine. It'll look meaner.
by the way, I don't know why it didn't come thru in the blue-print, but my bar is made from 1/4" sheet steel.

cool addition there guys, and thanks for the print.. about the only thing I would add would be mounting tabs for fog lights.

I've seen some police package malibus, I always wondered how they got push bars on the front of them.

i was just doing a google search for a push bar for my grand prix and this thread came up.

how much to get one just like yours in bare steel? it's an awesome piece on that GP and i gotta have one for mine.

I can't say,

prices for steel are always changing... the 1/4" bar stock I used is tough to cut, so you'll need someone with a good plazma cutter. You're also free to use thinner stuff, but I therefore reserve the right to call you a whooooss

The tubes are easy to find, and cut. Welding may be tricky if you use think tube and weld onto a 1/4" plate.

Feel free to use your imagination for the rest.

i like this one for 179 bucks

"Setina 16" Bodyguard push bumpers are better than ever. Now Setina mounts the hard rubber push pads to aluminum loops instead of steel loops. That makes them 10 pounds lighter which eases installation and decreases the amount of added weight to your vehicle. Spring action prevents damage to your grille, headlights and fender without interfering with the monitors for your SRS Air Bag System. Includes a connecting crossbar that provides additional mounting area for speakers and warning lights. The 16"H x 5"D model weighs 35 lbs. Mounting hardware and instructions included. The Bodyguard Push Bumper fits the following vehicles: '79-'96 Caprice; '86-'98 Crown Vic; '80-'89 Diplomat; '95-'98 Explorer; '87-'98 Cherokee; '86-'98 Marquis; '93-'97 Pathfinder; '83-'97 S-10 Blazer; '97 S-15 Blazer; '97 Taurus; '89-'98 Suburban; '92-'98 Yukon; '92-'98 Chevy Truck; '92-'98 Ford F250 Truck; '89-'98 Lumina; '92-'97 full-size Blazer; '89-'98 full-size Bronco; '88, '90-'92, '94-'98 full size Chevy Van; and '93-'98 full-size Dodge Van. Please specify make, model and year of vehicle when ordering. Add $20 for freight per push bumper. "
