I just got done putting a tilt steering column from a 81 cutlass in my 82 regal. Everthing swtiched out easy and then i tested everything to make shure it all worked. And realized that my front headlights and windshield wipers are not working. I started checking everything was connected and noticed on one harness from column that plugs into the harness to the car that they connect perfect but the wires on both sides are diffrent colors. Regal harness b-pink,c-black,d-grey,e-purple,f-green and the cutlass harness b-white,c-grey,d-green,e-purple,f-pink. If anyone has had this problem can you help me out.

I also forgot to put that the cutlass column had cruise control, i just switched the wiper stick from my regal to it that dosent have cruise control. Im not shure about the cutlass columns year it might be after 83 and have the diffrent switch from negitive to positive, can i some how adapted it so my headlights,highbeam switch,and windsheild wipers work or will this column will not work in my car any help would be appreciated.
It sounds like you will have to re-pin the connections from your new column to conform with the harness plug. Make note of how the colors are configured, and then one by one with the help of a small jewelers type screw driver, loosen the connectors tab until you can pull it out from the plastic plug.
Place each wire so it conforms in the same order as the other plug end.
