EL CAMINO putting some Super back in my El Camino SS

I started out with some sandpaper and some Dark Garnet Red Metallic. I had purchased about 5 cans from a local surplus store . Tough to beat it at $0.99 per can! Sad to say, 5 cans was not enough and when I went there to get more, they were completely 100% out of it and any other shade of Red. I called a sister store that was about 100 miles away and got the same response. at least AutoZone had one can that they were willing to sell me for the paltry sum of $9.99 a can.

So that was all " Catch up" I am still sanding off old primer and filling a few flaws in the body. ( AutoZone kinda redeemed themselves by selling a 14oz kit/can of Bondo for 75% off at just $3.50)
Everything below the belt line will be Medium Gray Metallic. I cleaned out the surplus store of their last 16 cans of it. I know that when all is said and done it will be a $50 paint job, performed by a complete novice, but....Primer is NOT Topcoat! Stay tuned!

So I sanded primed patched sanded primed painted, sanded and buffed it all out until it looked like this

Looks good but if the state still issued purple antique plate it would look even better.
