Did you check to make sure the secondary lockout was functioning properly? Going on what little info we have it seems the lockout may be simply sticking.
Thank you for your response! I think we are on the right track... The tab isn't broken off but it does appear to be bent to the left. So do I just grab some needle nose pliers and bend the tang?
So that bent finget should rotate back with the throttle arm and at some point contact the tab to the right, which in turn activates the secondary link and opens the secondary throttle blades.
I would use a needlenose pliers and bend the secondary tab towards the front of the carb, making the finger contact it sooner. Adjust small amounts at a time until the secondaries open a full 90 degrees when the primaries are at 90 degrees.
If you need to straighten out that bent finger for whatever reason thats fine, but its the interplay between the two that sets when the secondaries open and how far. Play with it til the secondaries open when and how far you need.
Ken thanks for your help, this has been bugging the crap out of me! Didn't want to put a bunch of money in the carb because I'm removing the computer when I swap engines.
I'll make sure to let you know how it works. Thanks again!
