question about body work swaps

Ok I have been wondering about this, I'm lacking the bumpers off of my Cutlass and the local yard does not have any off a 78-80 car. They do however have a I believe it was an 83 or 84 car. Is it possible to swap the plastic bumpers over to the earlier body? Will things line up properly? I'm thinking not but figured I would ask.

Oh how about the metal bumpers from any of the other lines would those work? I was really planning on taking a metal bumper and body coloring it.

That won't work.

You're limited to '78-'80.

Also the 78-79 had turn signals on the header panel by the headlights, and the 80 had them on the bumper.

That is what I was thinking I just wanted to verify, I just have very limited parts availability out here at the yard. Hopefully I can scrounge up a bumper set soon, maybe find them when I'm in Portland.
