Question about CCC

my question is can my engine run with a non ccc HEI distributor with vacumn advance and a ccc carb, i have a feeling it may run like sh*t but my question is will it run at all. i would like to get my engine running in my car without dishing the money on the carb first

Well I can say that I was troubleshooting mine, and disconnected the computer with the full CCC setup on it. Started it, and it ran, poorly, but it ran. So my short answer for you is that it will run. How well remains to be seen.

Yes, it will run. When you set the initial timing on a computer car, you disconnect the wiring connector to the dist., and it still idles. It may not run very well, since the computer will cause the carb settings to be in "limp" mode, but it will at least run.

good point billy, i should have thought of that because i have had to do that with my v6. stupid me
