Question about euro clip wiring harness...

Just got an 87 euro clip for my 85 Cutlass. I was able to score one with the factory harness. My question is when I swap out harnesses from my 85 non-euro harness to my 87 euro harness, do I need to change anything as far as fuses or what not for different amperage draw? Or is this euro harnesses truly plug and play?

Just dive in; you will be shocked how easy it is. It is truly a shame cars aren't made so easy to repair these days. Make sure the headlights are actually working and at equal brightness, before securing the bolts and thats it... Some people choose to hardwire in a couple relays but you don't need them. You can easily buy a capacitor if your concerned about shorts for some reason. It's always advisable to change old fuses routinely, esp when doing a repair to the lights. Be sure to hit up Radioshack going out of business sale if you have 1 nearby. Don't buy fuses / relay from walmart or autzone. They are lame.

Ok great...I was just worried that I would have to rewire the new harness....good to know that this will be plug and play! Any other advice is appreciated.

The amber turn signals were going for more like $5-10 but now go for more like $25-50 depending who it is. Nobody makes them new right now. The only re-manufactured ones I have seen didn't look as good as the originals. Don't lose them. If it looks like it's not in tightly enough its not. They are not always readily available if 1 falls out, and you don't want to end up w/ some fakes. The euro turn signals from celebrity works too, but they dont look the same and are equally as difficult to come by at the junkyard / ebay.

If you are not sure about the size of the bolt that secures the harnesses to the back of the fuse box it's a 7mm

Thanks! Good to know...looks like it is a pain in the butt to access the plug...have not dug in yet but looks like its going to be a challenge.

It's not hard to get to it.....use a long socket and a wobble extension if you have one

Finally getting around to doing this conversion this week coming up. Got my clip back from pant and body and it looks killer! In looking at my harness that came with it (euro clip harness), I have what i'm guessing is a dumb question.
On the old 85 clip, the side marker light goes in the lower amber rectangle reflector down low. On the euro harness I see that the marker bulb obviously goes in the euro corner marker, but I do not see a spot on the harness for the rectangle amber reflector to be lit any more. On the euro clips is this not illuminated and now just a reflector? Thanks!

It's not illuminated because you have 2 turn signals now up front. I'm actually converting mine to be parking lights like the rear is.
