my 85 elky seems to ride rough and im thinking a new set of shocks and springs all the way around.. are the air shocks for the back a good choice for elkys..also do they sale springs with different ratings so i can get the car to sit a little higher off the tires.. it looks like where its old that the car has settled over the years.. im wanting to get it back to specs and also be able to drag a small motorcycle trailor behind it...thanks for any insight..

You may be happier with new stock springs. I am not sure, but the wagon springs may be stiffer due to more weight over the rear end, but then again, the El Camino may be stiffer due to towing and cargo capacity. As far as it goes, G bodies on stock springs do sit a little high. You may be very surprised how much higher it sits on new springs as we are all used to seeing them as old cars with bad springs. It could be as much as an inch to an inch and a half. I do not like it, so I run lowering springs, but to each their own.
