I my quest to stiffen up the chassis on the wagon, I will soon will have every brace GM made for these cars.

Or so I thought.....

On one site, there was reference to a "rear quarter trunk brace" on an Olds with T-tops.

They were not talking about the rear seat X brace, which the car has "also".

Anyone ever see such a thing?

Maybe we could compare a t-top vs standard roof quarter?

It could be a welded in piece for all I know, I can't find the post.

"If" it exists, it most likley would not fit the Wagon, but my race Cutlass could use them/it.

85 SS, did some cars not have these braces?

All mine have had them so I assumed....

I just went and looked at the 78 Cutlass and 79 Grand Prix, they both have them on both sides.

I was acually looking for a brace that is in the B pillar. The GP has a plate welded in, the Cutlass does not.

The more I research this stuff the worse it gets!

Sorry - I wasn't aware of the B-pillar difference. And correct, not all car had the second trunk/quarter brace on the drivers side. I know my Monte doesn't have it, and I believe most 81-86 models do not either. I was unaware that the A-specials (78-80) seem like they may all have it.
