I found this thread awhile back.

http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/brakes ... rerid=1864

Was wondering if anyone hasn tried this ( machining down our Gbody hub) to accept C5/C6 brake rotors for the brake upgrade, instead of tring to find those ZQ8 spindles?

Seems, In My Opinon, All one would hafta do is make a braket for the caliper.

Same thing right?

Would it increase the front track width?

It would be a cheaper alternative..........

Here's what have done for mine.

That looks tight.

I think what the OP means is will the machined down hub add an inch or two with a rotor on top of it and need aftermarket wheels with the right backspacing to look right on the car with stock fenders. Uneek, any information on the setup you have?

Your track width will increase by the thickness of the rotor. Maybe .375" tops on each side.

That's actually not even that bad. I'll put this on the growing list of maybes

Yeah. Since the hub he is using is just a standard brake rotor with the pad surface machined off, there's no increase in track width there. Just the new rotor itself.

FE3X CLONE you hit right on the head. Don't you have kind of the same setup but your using F-Body calipers?
