question on seat belts

I know this is going to sound dumb but before I break something How do I move the belt buckle - as shown in the picture - up and down the belt? I know there is a proper way to do this but for the life of me I can't remember. 20240519_151503.jpg
 
You should just be able to pull it up or down. If it’s not moving, the tensioning bar is either crooked, or your belt is folding up over itself in the buckle. It’s a pain to get them unstuck, you’ll have to work it free by hand from my experience.
Yeah the passenger side just doesn't want to play. The drivers side works just as you describe. I appreciate the reply.
 
check the slidebar mechanism to see if that's sticking, either on the belt or in the buckle itself
