New to the site. I go a mostly gutted 88 Cutlass sporting t-tops. The engine is out and I think i;s a good time to get to the front suspension. I want to sure up the handling and basically want to see what others think from least to greatest the best way to go with suspension components. Sway bars, controls arms, anti-hop braces, trailing arms, bushings, tractions bars. How would you order those. Or if I lefyt out something what would you add. As you may know that stuff is pretty costly and I may be able to get the handling I want another way. enjoy

what do you want/need to do? better than stock, great handling, pro-touring level, (road course) track level, or just (drag)strip level handling?

Definitely road course handle

Thanks for the replies. I hope to get a road course type handling. Money is not an object I just want to feel the difference with each add-on. I don't want to spend some cash and feel like the work didnt do enough.

Well, since money is no object, start with a Sawzall, and cut the frame off at the firewall, then fabricate a square tube subframe, weld it on, and attach C6 Corvette suspension pieces. Out back, use the C6 6 speed transaxle to fix the G body weight distribution issues, and use the corresponding LSX engine up front. Be sure to corner weigh the car to get the weight evenly distributed to all 4 wheels. When you are done, you will have the ultimate G body suspension upgrade!

artmorrison.com or gmachinechassis.com both will build you a frame that will handle better then you can dream. If you keep the g body frame it needs a x in the middle bad and boxing. And scandc.com can make one handle great too.I wouldn't mess with any irs they are only good for a smooth ride.Best handling rear set up is a 3 link with a watts link straight axle.

talk to marcus at http://www.scandc.com/products.htm, but a quick list of recommendations that won't require major fab work...ATS/AFX spindles with the adjustable UCA's---great geometry and bolt on C6 brakes, tubular lower control arms, Watts link in the rear, adjustable rear arms with johnny joint style bushings, and chassis braces. for springs i'd go to http://www.ridetech.com/catalog/Chevrolet_Monte_Carlo_1978_1988-952-1.html this way you can adjust the shocks and the "spring"response and height.
if money really is no object, just send the car to a race shop and have them build a whole new chassis and suspension.

hey, if he wants, i'm more than happy to spend his money. 🙂
