I can't find pics but there was a great tire place called Pooor Freddie's Mud Hole. I always imagined a swamp with guys working in the mud. Then in the '70s there were two clubs on Northern Blvd in Corona, Queens. Mr Ugly's East and Mr Ugly's West. The names are self explanatory.

We must be neighbors. Do you know Greg's Tire and Auto on Union Tpk? Good friends of mine. But there is another Nut Just Lube up in Port Washington. Tried charging my daughter $800 for front brake pads. Not only did she laugh out loud at them- she got her place of business to drop them too.
