Questions about oilpumps

It may not be the lower rpm from being in gear it may be the load on the motor that the transmission puts on it. You can prove that theory wrong by turning the idle down with it in park and listen. Things like p/s pump, water pump, alternator, are not affected by load so the noise will still be heard if not in gear, but internal problems or something contacting something because of a bad mount will need the load put on the motor.
