Quick intake gasket question

I bought a set of sce intake manifold gaskets. They come with a silicone bead around all of the ports, but are only on one side. My question is does the side with silicone go on the intake or head? Of course no instructions come with the gaskets and no info on their site.

They face the intake manifold and I also put on a very thin coat of permatex around the backside of the water ports on each end, it helps hold the gasket in place and gives a little added protection.
