quick question about brakes

how did he claim he fixed them, because he would have had to cut the "bad" pieces out, reflared them and re connect with fittings, which would be way too much money. compared to the proper fix...

they proper way to fix this, would be to replace the entire line, it doesnt cost much for the line at all... i used unions in my thread, but thats because i had to step the line down from 1/4 to smaller, check out what i mean by unions, in my thread... the line off my master to the rear line, from my prop valve is tied together with a union, and its the proper fitting for the job, but after I swap to my 9" rear, im replacing the entire line...

i would take it to somewhere more trustworthy and make sure the brake system is right!

That's what I said as well cause I actually looked around for brake lines and found some at autozone for real cheap.
But had not a clue how to do it myself, so i thought I would pay my mom and step dads mechanic to fix them for cheap, but that's the point hes a chinese guy, so you can barely understand what hes saying.
But I am going to call him and ask how he would fix them and try to understand if he did it right or wrong.
Just to make sure and know if I have to go to someone else Or possibly be satisfied about what he did.
I am hoping he did them right but If he doesn't I am just going to redo them.

I am checking out all your threads now.
Thank you so much for the great response.

Master cylinders will not break lines. The only way you will need a master cylinder after a line change is if the brake pedal traveled too far, causing the seal in the master cylinder bore to tear causing air to get into the system causing the pedal not to pump up.I worked on cars for 18 years and saw this happen a hand full of times. As for a master cylinder causing line failure, your mechanic is a clown and is feeding you a line of crap.

If your master cylinder is hooped, you simply won't get enough pressure. Get a better mechanic, and do some research before trusting anyone, especially that guy.
