Race cars aren't pretty until they get covered with a body, paint and decals, here's a modified that a friend of mine is building..

Oh no, that's when they look their best, when you can see all the good stuff. Certainly makes you respect all the time and effort taken to build it.

we had our sportsman in a race car show this past weekend.....I don't care for shows. now we start to strip her down to set it up for the season and that's what I like...I'm the fabricator/mechanic on the team. Ramey with UMI is another circle track racer and he's got a real sweet ride. He's got to post some pictures...

That sportsman looks so much nicer than the IMCA A Modified I help a buddy race. Granted, his is a dirt car and he's a broke mechanic with no sponsors but we do our best with what he can afford. Looking forward to racing season but unfortunately might miss it if I end up being offered an internship in KC.

I'd be interested in updates on how your season goes if you have the time.

Also, HOLY DOORBARS!!! and fancy headers on your friend's modified.

Thnaks, we have the same doorbar set up in our sportsman. The stickers you see on the front fender are contingency sponsors. We are down to 3 sponsors so the money is tight, no wings and beer. The car as you see was put on the track for under $9,000. and it was very competitive last year finishing in the top 5 every race. We have some upgrades for this year so realistically we have a good shot at the championship

Either one of you two ever race at "Toledo Speedway"?

We have a short track here owned by ARCA that I haven't been to in years... They have ARCA races, good old fashion demolition derbies  , Figure 8 races, ect... ect... ect...
