I have a 83 cutty. (the blue one below) An i was wondering if any one knows what the widest tires or the best traction street tire i can put on those stock 14" rally wheels?

Also what is a decent to good brand that wont be to expensive?

Good question. I could be wrong but I thought 245 was the widest on a 7" rim. I have some 265's on an 8" and that looks like the bare minimum for that width. I'm still trying to figure out if I like white walls better than anything else on those rims.

Don't think you could get 245 on the front without issues. 225 is good all around.
You may get too much side roll if you go too wide.

Your 14's are 14x6, 245/60r14's are the widest you can get on the rear, get like a 205/70R14 on the front, it looks great. Don't get a huge fat tire on the front or you will lose steering.

BF GoodRich Radial T/A's look awesome. Can't beat the white letters.

I looked it up and 245/60R14's for the rear was $220 out the door.

Do you plan on driving this car in the winter? If so don't buy to fat of a tire, because the fatter the tire the worse your traction will be, skinny tires cut through snow better.

Example - take a butter knife and try to cut an apple in half, then take a fillet knife and try, resut; a cleaner faster cut.

Yes - I am very bored.

215/60/14s are very short. You might really start to hate speed bumps. I agree with 87 GP get 205/70/14s up front 25.4" tall and 245/60/14s on the rear 25.6" tall. Stock height is 25.5" tall. I like the looks of BFG radial TAs but haveing owned many and after now switching to Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s I will never go back to the radial ta. The Firestone is noticably better all the way around and also look great. Check out the reviews of both on www.tirerack.com Also they are about the same price.

agree with the firestone iny 500's. had them on my old 95 caprice ex-cop car. they handled better than the eagle rsa's that were originally on them and the white letters just have that nice "wow" factor to them.

god I miss that car, but needed the cash to get the regal project back on track...
