If u hate conic sections now, wait until you hit the stuff in diff-eq and multi variable, youll want them back

I remember that stuff beat me up good when I was getting my BS EE degree from Penn State. Graduated in 98.

yea im a freshman mechanical/automotive engineering student at RIT, ill be doing math nonstop for the next 4 years lol

Hmm todays b*tch.
People who sell stuff on craigslist that is totally junk, but they dont tell you that until you drive an hour to go see it.

Id also like to b*tch about the junkyards crushing all the gbodys they have because race car guys took some body parts or suspension parts.

This past week, I was doing triple integrals in spherical coordinates.

I will be very happy in 6 weeks when I never (I hope!) have to take a math class again.

Well, I have my last regular test tomorrow in Trig/pre-calc, and my final next Monday. I am having to try to remember how to do ellipses, etc. today, plus I have to go to work tonight. I am so stressed out by my lack of money and everything else that is going wrong in my life right now that it is almost impossible to concentrate! I got my hours cut ( to 20!!!) because business is down, and I really need the money since I have 4 bald tires on my delivery car, my G body is not driveable, my porch roof is still trying to prove Isaac Newton right and "must come down", etc. I need school to get a good job and work my way out of this mess, but I can't do well because everything is going terribly wrong. It is not that the material is especially difficult for me, it is that I forget the general equations during the tests. Plus, I work nights and have classes at 8:30am. So, I get very little sleep.

I would just like to b*tch about the bolt on the inner fenderwell by the firewall that is the biggest pain to get to. It took me about the same time to get that one bolt out as it took me to get the rest of them out. I think an air ratchet would have been much easier/ quicker, but I dont have a compressor.

Fat People!!! (And how I lost 60 lbs in 3 mos)

Well, I want to b*tch today about all of the fat *ss people who claim they can't loose weight, but do nothing to help their situation. I had a guy I worked with who claimed he was on the Subway diet. Well, his idea of the Subway diet was 2 foot long meatball subs with extra cheese and meat, 2 times a day, with a Big Mac or 3 thrown in as a snack in between. Of course he didn't loose weight that way! Also, all of the people who are waiting until they have the money to buy some expensive towel rack they plan to use to exercise with. If you have a floor, you can do push ups, sit ups, etc. If you have feet and shoes, you can walk, and go incrementally farther every day or week.

The reason you gain weight is you take in more calories than you burn on a very regular basis. So, it would seem that the way to fix the problem is to either burn more calories or take in fewer. How do you burn more calories? More muscle mass. You get that with exercise, something most of us get too little of. It does not take a gym membership, or expensive fitness equipment either. It can start in little steps and move up from there. I speak from experience. I went from 240lbs to 180 in a matter of 3 mos by both cutting calories and excercising, plus a prescription generic weight loss drug that cost about $20 a month ( Phenteramine). The doctor told me I may lose up to 20 lbs in a year or so on it. I lost 20 a month! All the while working 55 hours a week managing a pizza restaurant. He was amazed and said he had never had a patient lose that much without bariatric surgery. What's better is that almost a year later I have kept off all but 10 lbs of it, and I only gained that when I stopped exercising and started eating bad again. My resting heart rate went down 20 beats per minute, and I went from borderline high blood pressure to lower than average too. Even better is that I have been off the pills since September.

I have started exercising again, and have cut some of my bad foods, but interestingly enough, I am not actually losing weight--but I am losing inches off my waist. I figure the problem before as to why I had plateaued on my strength increase was my 1,000 calorie a day diet, so I have relaxed it a bit for now in order to build muscle. Then I will cut calories again to finish the job. I would say that exercise is the most important thing to do first to lose weight, even if you do not diet right away. That way, when you do diet, your body will burn fat and calories more effectively, and it is a more long-term solution.

I know. Air ratchet is not the answer, a Gear Wrench would be the answer. I don't remember my 4 door Cutlass being as difficult. My 84 GP was a b*tch.

I hate modern life, yet I can't seem to do without it. All of the crap we have that is supposed to make our lives "easier", has only served to make it more hectic and complicated. Take the cell phone for example. It would seem to be a great thing to have in emergencies, or if you forgot something. Instead, it has become something we are all now tethered to. If you fail to pick up at any given moment that someone is calling, they get pissed off that you could not be reached. Never mind that you were taking a dump and had a giant turd hanging out of your *ss when they called, it does not matter. And how the hell do you explain about the turd anyhow without being seen as disgusting, or just giving TMI? ( and yes, you can laugh now...)

Then there are those other devices that are supposed to be models of efficiency, but only end up providing you with more crap to tote around every day. Some days, I leave the house with over $1,000 in electronic devices in my hands, balanced precariously as I try to get in my car. Between the cell phone, iPod, graphing calculator and laptop, the electronics I carry probably out value the car they are put in. Plus, you have to have accessories! Yes, the Bluetooth headset (because wires are so 1990's), head phones, GPS transponder, power inverter, and various chargers all add up to even more complication and money spent. I even had to add an additional power outlet to the dash of my truck to accommodate the extra chargers. But alas, I am still not electronically cool enough. I do not have a stand alone GPS unit or even satellite radio! I feel like a veritable caveman! Even better would be a car with built in GPS, and Bluetooth connectivity. Then, all I would be lacking in this glorious modern mobile world would be a modem that connects me to the internet via the cell phone network. By the time I have all of this, the world will once again have moved on with another device I need to be in touch. So, my life will be no easier, just more expensive with more crap to take up my time and enslave me to corporate productivity. Will somebody tell me just how this has made life any better?
