Hey everyone. my rear bumper to my cutlass is shot! I have found some places that will redo the whole thing starting at $225 and that's not including shipping. :blam:

I did make a barter deal with a guy who has a graveyard of Olds but he never made good on his end.

I have seen some rear chrome bumpers on ebay for $175 and up and shipping is at least $75. Some are for other models and Im sure they would fit but at this point i'm disgusted with all the back n forth for a "it might work" answers from the sellers.

Now that I have found you guys I have seen many different swaps and alternative solutions to replacing the OG front bumpers.. but I was wondering what you guys can suggest I can do for the rear.

I'm so annoyed I was just going to stick a LED light in the opening and have it scroll something stupid and have a switch to make it bright so I can see where I am backing up to since we all know the Olds backup lights suck.

Just looking for ideas and suggestions.

This is an 86 olds salon.. and I have no clue if the rest underneath is bad. last I looked they were ok but that was 4 or 5 months ago. I wont be able to tell you for sure till I get it back.

Say it's just the bumper and not the filler or strut/bumper mounts.

Sounds like you need to find a local pick a part. If you can find a decent bumper in a yard, and If you pull it yourself, you can probably get the bumper for about $75. Then you can put it on in the parking lot, and sell the old bumper for scrap metal. That's what I would do.

Thanks Joe. That was the 1st plan and since the olds graveyard is only 1/4 mile behind my road it would have been a great plan if the guy would have kept his part of the deal. I already lost 2 almost new cooper tires to the barter that he screwed me on. NO 1 local has it but I keep looking.

In the mean time any other fabrication ideas are more than welcomed  it's not like this is ever going to be an OG restore 🙂

Cut section out find nice trim to go around the cut out and customize your pipes to go to the middle !! Throwing something crazy out there ! U would be the first g-body that I have seen with it.... Lol

Ahh I get it .. however I think that the gas tank would make that hard to do.The exhaust pipes would be lower and more visible. Good try, but that wouldn't work and for what they would charge me to move my exhaust I can get the bumper fixed dipped and shipped.

You're right you were throwing something crazy out there!
