Has anybody or does anybody know if the rear seat back from a 78 salon will interchange with a 78 calais? Or vice versa. Years ago i found a set of 78 calais seats, front and back, and sold them to my friend with a 78 regal sport coupe. He's now looking to part out the car and i have first dibs on some parts. I would like to take the seats out of my salon and put these in their place. The salon buckets would then go into my cutlass cruiser. All if these interiors are carmine red. The salon cloth pattern matches the wagon and suprisingly, buckets were an option on cruiser broughams.

You should be fine. Any rear seat minus the wagons should work.

I had a 4 door Malibu rear seat in my 83 Monte SS. The only difference is the lower corners are more rounded to give more access from the rear doors. A 4 door rear seat in a 2 door car looks funky but it works.

thanks for the info. the rear seat bottom cushion I'm not worried about. the salon is a two door also. its the rear seat back rest I'm curious about. the salons seat back is more reclined than the calais seat back and I'm concerned it won't fit. but i guess i'll just have to try it to find out.

Shouldn't be any issues doing a coupe to coupe swap as all use the same lower rear panels so the angle may be an optical illusion.
