Does anyone make the rear shock brace ( not really what it would be called ) that you can buy and bolt on. I'm thinking about making one but finding that it harder then I thought to get up by the rear shock mounts to measure. Just thought I would ask and see if they are made by anyone yet. Or if one of you has any way to make one let me know.

Are you talking about a brace at the top of the shocks? I'm not exactly sure where it would be located, or how much improvement it would provide. Don't the shocks bolt directly to the main frame crossmember above the rear axle? Is there a way to strengthen this?

To my knowledge no one makes anything like this. These aren't uni-body cars that benefit from something like that typically.

Now when I had the frame out from under the car I cut and welded in a square steel tube that runs between the shock mounts and spring perches to help strengthen this area but I had also notched the frame and was just trying to brace it back up a little.

Aren't these the braces that reinforce the rear shock mounts on the frame? I believe Edelbrock and Hotchkis offered them.
They were a bolt-on part(s).

I think this would be similar to what the op is asking for. this is from member srd art's build. I contacted him about possible making another one, never heard back. it would be a coolo piece along with some of his mods. could be some cool parts to mass produce for g-bodies

Very cool idea indeed... I imagine it would help stiffen up the rear frame and prevent the wobble, especially if you add the trunk bracing on both sides along with the W brace to the rear seat back...

Ya guys thats what im looking for. Sucks that they are not made. But maybe I will just have to weld some square tubing in place.
