in the Desert!
I found a 79 Monte Carlo in the local pick and pull. I pulled the rear sway bar.. Will this be a bolt on for my 83 Regal? Also If anyone is interested they have a nice hood and doors for that 79..From what I can see very little to no rust on the hood. I can pick it up if anyone needs it..
thanks

Thanks Pat..I just cleaned it up and spraying down now.. Should be in tomorrow 🙂

Make sure you use the spacers that go on the inside of the control arm.

While we are on the subject. I also pulled the front sway bar of an 84 regal..What are a good set of bushings for it? Where can I get them?

Also if anyone one needs anything for your cars let me know. I found out my buddy that I know from way back when is working at the pick and pull. I can get parts cheap. I paid $10 bucks for both sway bars and 3 bucks for a grill. Ill have him keep an eye out for you guys. Price will be what I get it for plus shipping.

Make sure you install the swaybar spacers for the rear control arms..or you will crush the arms.

What spacers are you guys talking about? When I took off the Sway Bar there was no spacers..just 4 bolts and thats it..Do you guys have any pics?

They are inside of the "u" part of the control arm. They may need pryed out, prolly rusted in there a bit. Without them you will collapse the control arm as you tighten the nuts.

Damn! I didnt know I needed a spacer I just took of the bar and got out the pick and pull..Do you guys know of a site that sells them? OR a pic of what they look like so I can go back to the yard..

As JRM said, the spacers could be held onto the control arms by some light rust. Go back to the car you got the swaybars from and you can probably pry the spacers out with a large flat screwdriver. They're sort of flat pieces of metal bent into an "S" shape. Worse case scenario, you can cut or use small pieces of pipe or heavy conduit between the lower control arm space/cavity. It will work if the spacers are unavailable.

The two bolts go thru them. You'll find them. Sorry no pics.
